The South Station Tour is a lively walk through the 20th century glimpsing into the railroad past and peering into its future.

It is approximately an hour long indoor/outdoor walking tour of South Station Terminal and grounds. Points of discussion include: geography, architecture, history of the railroad, events in the 20th century that shaped the railroad and the South Station Terminal in particular.

The tour covers three levels of South Station. There is an escalator as well as an elevator. We suggest wearing comfortable walking shoes.

Meet your guide on the first Saturday of the Month at 1:00pm at the Tour sign inside the building by the souvenir counter, Summer Street entrance R

Faneuil Hall Marketplace & Quincy Market

We trace the original shoreline and discuss the building of Faneuil Hall.  It was originally only to be a public market where no one could have foreseen that within its walls would be heard the shout for American Independence.

By the early 1800's Boston would require a larger market.    We'll discuss how Qunicy Market was built and the remarkable health improvements the new construction provided.  This historic landmark  narrowly avoided demolition in the 1960's and the concept of a festival marketplace redevelopment was born.

Though December 2018, meet 11:00am

Saturday mornings at the Quincy Market West entrance, South Market Street by Anthem Restaurant. Please wear comfortable shoes.
